ASC Math Online Tutoring - PAWS (D2L)

ASC Math Online Tutoring Update

The ASC Math Online Tutoring website, formerly located in WebCT, is now located within PAWS (D2L).

This service is available for Southwest students enrolled in a math course at Southwest. They may be taking their class in the classroom or online. This site contains handouts on most topics in Developmental Math and some of the topics in Pre-calculus and Foundations of Math. The handouts contain many example problems worked out step by step. There are also flash video tutorials on some of these topics. In addition, there are links to videos cross-referenced to most of the topics covered in the textbooks for Developmental Math, Pre-calculus, Foundations of Math, Statistics, and Elementary Calculus.

For students to gain access to Math Online Tutoring they should follow this procedure. When students fill out the Technical Request Form, they must check the Browser Check Box to complete the request. Under problem description they should request to be added to Math Online Tutoring. Once they are added to Math Online Tutoring, they will login in with their my.southwest user name and password.

Students can view a flash movie tutorial which demonstrates the steps on how to be placed in ASC Math Online Tutoring.

math tutorials using adobe captivate

Southwest students taking Developmental Math courses online or in the classroom have access to handouts and tutorials through the Math Online Tutoring website. These resources have been created especially with the Southwest student in mind, and they cover most of the topics taught in these courses.

The handouts are .pdf files that can easily be printed out. The tutorials are flash movies created with Adobe Captivate. Each semester new tutorials and handouts are added.

Students access Math Online Tutoring the same way they access an online course.

New Courses Added to Math Online Tutoring (via WebCT) for Spring 2007

Two courses have been added to the Academic Support Center's Math Online Tutoring WebCT course for the Spring 2007 semester. They are:

Math 1530 - Statistics
Math 1830 - Elementary Calculus
